Warning: This is a Politically Incorrect, but true message…
“We need the iron qualities that go with true manhood. We need the positive virtues of resolution, of courage, of indomitable will, of power to do without shrinking the rough work that must always be done.” ~ Teddy Roosevelt.
I pondered today: One of the marks of a declining nation is the loss of manhood.
The elites of the Roman Republic went from being warrior, manly leaders of the Senate class, to effeminate hedonists of the later Roman Empire. Then Rome collapsed in internal weakness.
Growing up in America (born in the 1960s), the celebrated icon of American manhood was the John Wayne character. The roles he played for a generation of boys. Through football, Boy Scouts, Wrestling, etc. the ideal of American “manhood” was so pervasive.
When I look at where American society is changing, I believe the most damaging is the de-emphasis of the ideal of American Manhood. That tough, manly spirit that conquered a wild continent and won two world wars.
If that spirit dies, our nation’s strength will be sapped. People can read this as sexism, but it doesn’t take away from distinctive traits women exhibit. The point is that our boys need to be taught the distinctiveness of manhood and what is Biblically expected: Protector, provider, and leader of their families.
